Equinox Highlights: Eric N. Jordan

During this time of quiet, we’re excited to be showcasing some of the many incredibly talented musicians who have been a part of our musical orchestras over the years. We pride ourselves on always featuring live music and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without these fine musicians.

Next up: Eric N. Jordan! Eric is a reed player, which means he can be seen carting in up to 7 or 8 different instruments for each show he plays. Sometimes that can mean flute, saxophone, clarinet, and so much more. He’s been a part of five different shows with us and we’re always glad to have him. Here’s your chance to get to know a little bit more about Eric N. Jordan!

About Eric:  I am a saxophonist, clarinet & flute doubler, and I’ve been a sub on Disaster, Reefer Madness, as well as full season on I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change and Bubble Boy.

Who are your musical influences: Yellowjackets, Spyro Gyra, Weather Report, Cannonball Adderley, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny.

What keeps bringing you back to Equinox? I love playing musical theater shows to be the backline to all the visible action on stage – Dancers and Singers and Actors bring together a real life energetic comical reenactment of the expressions of life.  The Bug Theater is a unique venue that only plays adult-aimed musicals, which no other theater in town will play these shows. It’s such a blast to be part of such a comical operation

What else do you have in the works? I also play with Jon Romero Y Amanecer, Denver Jazz Orchestra and Pamlico Sound as a regular member.

What would you like to say to our patrons? While all entertainment has been put on hold during this time of crisis, we hope to deliver some more exciting new shows in the near future!   Thanks to technology there is still always something there to excite.
